What Our Clients Say

“My experience with House of Kharizma was amazing. The set up was mind blowing and the food was top tier. I got everything i wanted out of the moment. I wish me and my friends were better at pictures because i would have a ton. We enjoyed ourselves and the set up so much that we only got a few small videos. She really gave us a moment that you just had to be there for to do it justice. They were so sweet and really went all out for us.”

A Message from Tosha

Hello!

Our Story

Based on the theological meaning of charisma, the name “House of Kharizma” was created in 2006 with the belief that we possess or “house” many divinely given gifts/talents and should put them to use. And putting a creative twist on how we spelled charisma is a reflection of our imaginative minds.

How We Started

Initially, the company was going to be a clothing retailer with personal shopping options, but that was never accomplished due to differences with a potential business partner. Years passed, and around 2017, Curtosha McKinney, the owner, began to make paper flowers and sell them. Her mom, Deborah, on the other hand, had always cooked/catered most of her life.

In 2018 and 2019, Curtosha was tasked with planning and decorating family events, which included a 50th marriage anniversary in Orlando, Florida and a wedding in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is where it all started. However, House of Kharizma wasn’t an officially registered business until July 2020. The business is family-owned and operated by a mother-daughter duo. Get to know Curtosha and Deborah by reading their biographies.

Meet Curtosha McKinney

“Hi, and welcome to House of Kharizma! My name is Curtosha Drake-McKinney, and I’m the legal owner of HOK. However, we are a family-operated business and my mother, Deborah Drake, is the other half of our dynamic duo!

She’s the cooking/catering brains of the business, although her event planning and decorating skills are top-notch, too! I love crafting and creating unique party pieces, decorating spaces, and event planning.

I was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. I graduated from Albany State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and I am happily married with two handsome boys.”

Meet Deborah Drake

“Hi! I'm Deborah, the second half of the illustrious House of Kharizma brand. Working with my daughter is nothing short of a blessing! I'm the person in charge of the cooking/catering aspect of the company.

I am from Albany, Georgia and have several years of catering and culinary experience. I specialize in soul food meal options and homemade cakes!
