This event was a semi-surprise for the honoree. Stuffed animals were ordered; signs were made to order and crafted by HOK; we used our 7ft arch to create the spectacular center of attraction adorned with balloon garland and palm leaves! Shout out to a wonderful team who made this event possible: Sonia Colon, Areal Walker, Serene Burns, and Alicia Schaffer!!

We helped our client honor her daughter in being crowned as Miss FAMU 2020-2021! The setup was classy and elegant! We assisted by securing the party venue with a 1-week notice on a tight budget. It was challenging but rewarding when we got to see the joy and excitement on our client’s face. From the words of our client, “Thank you so much. You helped to make my daughter to forget about the fact that she didn’t have the traditional coronation. The students thought it was classy too. I’m a big fan.”

COVID-19 has caused a slow-down of larger events and gatherings. However, our clients have continued to celebrate but in smaller numbers! Our first event of 2021 was exciting as we helped LaDeja and Demetrius celebrate their move to Houston, Texas...The City of No Limits! The event was at a beautiful home called Casa Isla Paraiso in Destin, FL. HOK contacted a local balloon artist (Cindi Balloons) in Destin, FL. for balloon garlands to drape the front entrance, interior stair rails, and the center lighting in the kitchen. Deep wine, black, and gold was the color scheme with velvet and sequined textures. Monogrammed stemless wine glasses (provided by Samantha Michelle Events) and personalized name plates for the honorees and their guests added a touch of elegance and made it more personal. At HOK, we love personalizing items to show how much we appreciate our clients! Fresh flower arrangements by HOK adorned the 8-feet dining table which consisted of roses, hydrangeas, tulips, and more! A Bar area was created using "BAR" and "Cheers" word signs that shined bright like diamonds; our clients loved them! We also provided the food and drink for the party, which consisted of seafood dishes: seafood lasagna, crab and shrimp cheese balll, marinara shrimp and stuffed shells, shrimp and grits, etc...

The Larsen’s New Orleans Wedding was held at the Westin Hotel in NOLA! It was no easy feat, as 30 paper flowers had to be created by hand for the flower backdrop. Table decor including centerpieces, chair covers and sashes had to be transported from North Tallahasse to New Orleans! HOK contacted local florists in NOLA to provide bouquets, boutonnières, flowers for table decor, etc. Big thanks to Brenna of Ethereal Array & Events for supplying real flowers!

This event was actually a SURPRISE for the non-expecting couple! They did know that something was taking place for their anniversary but didn’t know they were traveling to Orlando, FL to celebrate. They were also surprised to see their great grand boys for the first time!!! It was a hit. HOK planned the weekend event including arranging a photo shoot using a local photographer, booking a local cake designer (Bake A Wish Cakes), a night out at B.B. King’s Blues Club and Joe’s Crab Shack for Sunday’s Family Dinner! HOK also planned the color scheme and provided silk flowers for photo shoot.
